TIPS School Kits for Kidz
As we prepare to gather for the Annual Meeting in Chicago, there are some startling statistics to be aware of:
There are 404,151 children in the Chicago Public Schools.
350,000 of these students are low income.
106,000 of them are below poverty level.
15,000 of the students are homeless.
Please join the TIPS Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and the Law in Public Service Committee in trying to make a difference for the students in at least one of the schools by helping us provide school supplies for them.
Webster Elementary School is a school of approximately 320 students on the West Side of Chicago. 97% of the students at Webster are low income. 66% are below poverty level.
The TIPS Law in Public Service and ADR Committees and their cosponsors challenge each of you to purchase at least one of the Kits below and encourage your friends, colleagues, and firms to do the same.
For the price of a single lunch you can outfit one of Webster’s students with school supplies for an entire year and know that you made a difference in a child’s life.
